Yesterday, I was part of a PrimeLending team that played a “marathon” of golf holes under the blazing August sun at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas. But playing golf wasn’t the point. The whole day was about raising money and awareness for The First Tee of Greater Dallas (TFTGD).
Founded in 1997, TFTGD is an organization that utilizes golf as a platform to teach underprivileged young people the importance of building character, instilling life-enhancing values and making healthy choices. TFTGD helps kids like Lester Bell who has seen his share of hardship, but through golf, he has been given a new lease on life. With chapters located throughout the United States, TFTGD has grown into a robust youth service organization impacting the lives of more than 9 million young people. Learn more about the range of ways you can get involved in TFTGD (or a First Tee chapter in your community) as a coach, volunteer, fundraiser or event participant, like us.
PrimeLending was proud to be co-sponsor of the TFTGD 2015 Golf Marathon. Our core convictions include one team one purpose, which celebrates the power and momentum that can be created when we all work together towards a common goal. Yesterday, for the 20 of us from PrimeLending, it was a privilege to be a part of a huge team comprised of individuals and corporate groups combining forces for such a worthwhile cause. It was a long, hot day – but a day filled with laughter, gratitude and hope. Thanks to The First Tee of Greater Dallas for allowing us to be a part of such an outstanding event.
